Smile Education is proud to be working in partnership with The Endeavour Multi Academy Trust in their search for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to make a real impact in the lives of young people by supporting their education and development on a long-term basis at one of the Trust’s secondary schools in Wolverhampton.

The Role:

SEND Teaching AssistantAs an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 11 to 18 with Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing 1:1 support for students with SEND needs.
  • Assisting with academic and personal development to help students reach their full potential.
  • Supporting individualised learning plans tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encouraging students to develop independence and confidence in their learning journey.
Requirements:To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Education.
  • A strong understanding of SEND, particularly ASD, SEMH, and ADHD.
  • Experience supporting students in a similar role within a school setting.
  • The ability to commit to a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young people.
