Smile Education is collaborating with a prominent secondary school in Leicester who are welcoming a passionate Humanities teacher to join their team starting after Easter. The school is open to applications from both part-time and full-time teachers. If you’re ready to inspire young minds and bring History, Geography, or Religious Studies to life in the classroom, we would love to hear from you. This role would also be suitable for ECTs.
As a Humanities teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world. You will be expected to adapt your teaching methods to support the diverse needs and abilities of students, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging a love for learning will be central to your role.
You will join a supportive and collaborative staff team who are dedicated, professional, and committed to helping you develop and reach your potential.
The successful candidate must have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Education, Humanities or a related subject (History, Geography, RS, etc.)
  • Teaching certification or QTS/Level 5 (ideal but not essential)
  • A strong knowledge of the secondary Humanities curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students to achieve their best
