Are you passionate about Food Technology and ready to lead practical, engaging, and impactful lessons that inspire students to explore nutrition, health, and cooking?
This well-respected secondary school in Wigan, is seeking a committed Design & Technology (Food Technology) Teacher to join their supportive department.

Location: WN3
Pay: £150 – £230 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: Immediate

The Role – Food Technology Teacher:

Teach Design & Technology – Food Technology to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
Deliver high-quality, practical lessons covering areas such as healthy eating, food safety, nutrition, dietary needs, and meal preparation
Create a safe and stimulating environment in specialist food rooms and kitchens
Contribute to curriculum planning and the school’s focus on life skills and future readiness
Work collaboratively with other DT specialists within a well-established department
Provide individualised support and encourage creativity and independence in pupils

The Ideal Candidate:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a Design Technology-related subject.
Strong subject knowledge in food preparation, health & safety, and nutrition education.
A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and a passion for food and healthy living
Excellent behaviour management and the ability to build positive relationships with students
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education
