Are you passionate about Food Technology and ready to lead practical, engaging, and impactful lessons that inspire students to explore nutrition, health, and cooking?
This well-respected secondary school in Wigan, is seeking a committed Design & Technology (Food Technology) Teacher to join their supportive department.
 
Location: WN3
Pay: £150 – £230 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: Immediate
 
The Role – Food Technology Teacher:
  • Teach Design & Technology – Food Technology to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
  • Deliver high-quality, practical lessons covering areas such as healthy eating, food safety, nutrition, dietary needs, and meal preparation
  • Create a safe and stimulating environment in specialist food rooms and kitchens
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and the school’s focus on life skills and future readiness
  • Work collaboratively with other DT specialists within a well-established department
  • Provide individualised support and encourage creativity and independence in pupils
 
The Ideal Candidate:
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a Design Technology-related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge in food preparation, health & safety, and nutrition education.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and a passion for food and healthy living
  • Excellent behaviour management and the ability to build positive relationships with students
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education
